I have just wiped my computer and re-installed XP. I've done this before without issue, but am having a problem getting my video driver installed this time.
When I run the Nvideo driver file:
    169.21_forceware_winxp_32bit_english_whql

It starts to run, unzipping files, starts the nvidia setup program, and then I get the error:
"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

I've also tried using the 17440 file from laptopvideotogo web site, and got the same error.
I don't get it, I thought these programs are what is supposed to install the drivers??
    Help!

When you download the driver from the laptopvid2go site, did you also get the accompanying .inf file with that driver?

You place the modded .inf in the extracted folder, replacing the existing one, and then run the setup.exe. ;)

Yes, so once you download both the driver and the modified inf(from the same page as the driver download was), just copy the inf into the folder that has the setup file of the driver. It will tell you that that inf file already exists. You have to click overwrite that file. Then run the setup and it should work.
