    Hello all,

My 2.2GHZ M1330 has a fan that never seems to turn off. I just downloaded I8kfanGUI from http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html to check how my fans are working comparing to the temperature and these are my results. Please advice by posting some of your own numbers so I can figure out if there is something wrong with my machine or not.

To drive up the temperature I played some 3d games for about 45min, these are my results after the game:

    CPU 49C - peak 58C
    GPU 57C - peak 58C
    MEMORY 57C - peak 58C
    CHIPSET 70C - peak 88C
    HARD DRIVE 43C - peak 44C

And this is how the fan was spinning according to I8kfanGUI:
    Done playing: 4967RPM
    After 3min: 4314RPM
    After 6min: 3690RPM

    After 20min: 3725RPM
    CPU 38C
    GPU 43C
    MEMORY 43C
    CHIPSET 52C
    HARD DRIVE 42C

    After 46min: 3035RPM
    CPU 37C
    GPU 43C
    MEMORY 43C
    CHIPSET 52C
    HARD DRIVE 41C

And then the fan just stays on the latest speed at around 3000RPM until I shut the computer down. The same thing when I start the machine, after about 5min it goes up to around 3000RPM and stays there all the time. My fan is pretty much never turned off.

I would appreciate any help...

sadly, this is familiar to me. I bought an m1330 a couple months ago and I had the same problem. I ended up returning the laptop because it was before the 30 day limit. if you are truly sensitive about it, i recommend you do the same.

Oh really? Well that wasn't really what I was hoping to hear. I had a 2GHZ earlier and that fan wasn't on all the time, is it really that big of a difference between the two models?

    Man now I'm sad.. :(

what CPU temp do you get with SpeedFan? It tells me that my SZ61WN/C (running the same 2.2GHz T7500) is at around 27C when idling...and of course at that temp my fan is either off or running VERY quietly!

It wont tell you the speed of your fans, but I just want to see if it gives you the same temp readings as I8kfanGUI...
