I bought mine with only CD-ROM option and now want to upgrade it. Please suggest which one I should get and how to install it.
Thank you in advance!

If you want to go with a DVD burner, get a DVD+/-RW 8x (or 16x if it is out for laptops). You should be able to swap the optical drive yourself. Not sure if you have to use tools on that particular notebook to do so.
Perhaps go to the Dell website and look for upgrades and/or accessories. I believe you could go to the local retailer and pick one up but I think it would be best to get one from the same make as the notebook itself. -
NECs are the best laptop burners in my opinion.

I got one in a Thinkpad, hehe, little hacksawing and filing though ;O)

You haven't lived until you've deconstructed a notebook computer :|

LOL Momo. I've done stuff like that before...
Before you attempt to upgrade your drive, make sure that it is removable. I also like NEC drives. Sony drives were good until they started getting Lite-On to make them...piece of crap. -
Ya Sony isn't any good in that field anymore. Don't be fooled by the name. NEC is good yup. Philips as well no? Weren't they the first to release the technology?
Please suggest a DVD+/-RW drive for Latitude D610
