Please take a look at this XPS1210 config...if I wait a month or less do you think I can get a 1330 close to this price?

Guys, I ordered a 1420 the other day, but I still want something more portable, so I am thinking of cancelling it in order to get this. I cant remove the backpack and everything else is something I want. After looking at benchmarks the t7400 still seems to edge out the t7300 that I would likely get on the 1330 so that is fine with me. I will be bringing this to school for at least the next 6 months on a motorcycle so I need something portable.

All in all do you think I can get a 1330 at this price with a comparable configuration(minus the gfx, since I dont do too much gaming) in the next month?

    $1220

I need to place the order soon because all the deals keep dying...

The m1330 is in high demand and likely wont go down in price through Q4. Processor speed will likely have very little effect on user experience. Even in gaming benchmarks it doesn't account for a lot. If you can upgrade the memory yourself to 2gig for $70 or whatever from newegg then Vista will work a lot smoother than a high speed CPU with only 1gb.

I didn't see a price in your post but the base M1330 is $1300. If you want the portability then spend a few more bones and get it. It's a sweet machine.

oops, did I forget the price?

    around $1220 shipped.

I guess I will just have to wait for a back to school sale or something on the 1330.

    All I want is a 1330 with t7300, 1 gig, x3100, bluetooth and fingerprint reader for $1400....

btw I have 2 1 gig sticks of ram ready for whatever I buy...

on the other hand maybe I should just keep the 1420
    the specs on it are
    t7300
    2 gig
    160 hard drive
    8400 gs
    vista premium
    intel 3945
    bluetooth
    webcam
    6 and 9 cell
    earbuds
    1 yr in home
    for $1117.

There's a few threads here that have a lot of complaints about the 1210.. lots of warranty issues. If I were looking for a true portable it would be a tossup between the m1330 and a vaio SZ. The m1330 has the edge with the 8400m graphics and the sweet LED display (for a price) but its still kind of a fatty. The toshiba u300 would come in third because its even thicker. If you want to spend more and go really micro theres the lenovo x series, vaio tx, toshiba portege and others. Sweet machines if you open your wallet and don't need the graphics.

edited to add: when someone produces a truly micro/thin laptop with high end graphics in the $2000 range then I'll be all over it.
