I still have Inspiron 700m. I am abusing it like most of the laptops that I've owned. My other dell laptop is Inspiron 7500, it's 6 years old P3 600 brick. I had to replace the battery some time ago, and recently I've noticed DVD/CD ROM not working, but this thing still runs Ubuntu great. I know, I'll be missing this old laptop once I trade it in.

I just got the E1405, and could not be happier with the choice.

Light leakage on LCD - it is minimal, if any at all.

Overall ......... 40 + Positive Factors, Only 1 - Negative Factor, (It's doesn't have the Lattitude 'Sturdy Built' feel)

    E1705 Inspirion.

I've fixed the resolution etc so it looks fine now for surfing the net etc. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a big gamer or wanna watch DVDs.

Waiting on a 2 Gig Dual Core XPS m1210 w/ Japanese XP Pro, 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200 HDD, built in cam & 4-year complete care (even covers theft!) to arrive sometime this weekend. In the meantime, still using my 3-year old Inspiron 8500, which'll soon be my wife's new toy :)
