I have posted yesterday with problems I have experienced with blurriness (& tired/strained eyes) on my CMO screen, but it seems like many are happy with this screen. I have a replacement AUO screen coming, but want to make sure I am only upgrading and not downgrading... any insight here is appreciated!

Well, I really disliked the CMO screen for the D620, though I have no information as to whether it's improved or not.

I didn't see AUO screen in D630,but my Chimei screen is nice for me.It is not perfect, but after experience with !!GRAINY!! WSXGA+ screen on Inspiron 6400 is great! It has little bit light leaking on the bottom, but again, nothing bad..

So nobody has experience w/ the AUO on the D630? I wonder why all the recent systems are shipping out w/ CMO instead

I have an AUO wxga+ screen on my D630, and I'm very happy with it. It compares quite favorably to my two other Dells with LG Phillips screens.

I have the CMO screen on my D630 and am quite happy with it. It seems very sharp and bright. Vertical viewing angle could be a little better, but it's not too bad.

AUO 1440 x 900. Nice, bright and crisp on my D630.

is it normal to have some light leakage at the bottom of the screen?

I think there will always be a little bit. As long as it doesn't bother you, I wouldn't worry about it.

CMO for me. Very bright, and crisp.

you will always have light leakage some worse than others... i loved the chimei on the 1500 my buddy got wow it was nice.. remember though one chimei on one notebook may never resemble one on another notebook same goes for auo.. anandtech said the auo they got on one of the asus units was the nicest lcd they had ever seen so far period... so it all depends.. just because its a auo branded screen they make hundreds of different ones...
