Poll: How long does your M1330 take to boot up?

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to boot your M1330?

Specifically, from when you press the power button to when you first see your desktop? (Mine takes about 55 seconds, not brilliant, but not completely rubbish - I haven't got round to doing any of flamenko's tweaks yet!)
If you can be bothered, please post your specs as well (including your OS)

Mine takes about 30 seconds from the time I hit the power button until I see the login screen, and then about 10 seconds for everything to load up once I have logged in. So about 40ish seconds total. Not too bad, but I prefer to keep it in sleep mode.

Woops! Forgot my specs. I have the 2.2GHz core 2 duo with 3GBs of RAM, the 8400m GS GPU, 160GB 7200RPM HDD and Vista Home Premium.

 

Your poll results will be unreliable unless you update your question. The question should be how long does it take to boot your M1330 from the moment your press your power button till the desktop is useable (i.e., all services and startup programs have loaded and the cursor returns to normal pointer from hour glass )?

 

Thank you Sinstoic as many have different theories, an alternate being until the login screen appears which is much sooner for me. My startup is consistent around the 26 second mark from press of the button until screen is complete, SSD activity ceased and internet confirmed.

Specs below...and yes I am sure the SSD has helped so anyone getting this without the SSD has reason to be proud.

 

I agree with you Flamenko, so many theories around. For me, the system isn't booted until I can do something with it.

I can click the Start the button as soon as it is available to click Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (or any other program for that matter) from the list of recently used programs but the program isn't going to load until all services and startup programs have loaded. Even if it loads, accessing it isn't easy or in other words, the performance isn't the same as it is when the system is fully booted.

A lot of things have changed (read instantaneous or very fast access) with SSD and to some extent with Hybrid Drives, so you are in a different league.
