I ordered 7/1 with an est date of 7/20, which then became 7/27, now 8/3. And as of tomorrow, probably 8/28.

    I ordered a 1520 with Midnight Blue (1280x800 Glossy).

I absolutely need my laptop before 8/20.

Would reordering with a different color improve my chances of getting it before that date? I personally wouldn't mind changing to Alpine White and I from what I've read it doesn't seem too popular.

    Any ideas?

Also, I've been upgraded to free next business day shipping and a free backpack which will be ordered upon my 1520's shipping. In addition, I ordered when my $200 EPP coupon stacked with the $292 instant savings, would they be able to match all of these offers?

My Dell CSR told me that reordering wouldn't help. The fact is there are just too many orders.

If you reorder it will only push your date back and being upgraded to next day is pointless cause it will not get your laptop to you any faster .

Next day helps if the carrier is decent.

I am looking at building a new laptop...just playing around. The est ship date on most is 08/28/07 but if you go with black and the integereted sound blaster card it drops to 08/17/07. However, you really can't trust anything they tell you...lol

I had the same thing, a midnight blue 1520 with the 1280x800 screen and I reordered, changing from blue to Jet Black, and I hit the boxing stage in under 15 hours. So all I can say is reordering with Jet Black would help, any other color, probably not as they are all delayed right now.

If you want to switch the color would they have to cancel your order or can they just modify it? Jet black is the only color that isn't back ordered so I guess that the color to go for.

You would ahve to cancel your order and reorder, which is what i did. I had ordered a midnight blue 1520 on july 8th and after multiple delays I gave up, Reordered with jet black and was in the boxing stage the next day.

probably going to tell my sis to wait it out since If i reorder then I will defiantly lose all the coupons that I had. Im sure dell wont match a stacking glitch. But I hope those laptops will ship before 8/28.
