Well its spring break for me next week and I am going out to relax on the beautiful sandy beaches of Hawaii  !

Anyways I unfortunately need to write alot of code for my Comp Sci class over break :( and I want to take my laptop to the beach

    FIRST THINGS FIRST

Don't worry I know the haphazard that comes with sand so if I do take it to the beach I'll make sure not to have sit down on the sand, however here is my question will the sun damage my beautiful UWXGA true life screen?

    Thanks

    Dunc

using your notebook on the beach in direct sunlight is probably not a good idea. besides, why code on the beach? you should be having fun instead. go code in the hotel room or coffee shop. how you gonna concentrate on a notebook screen on a beach in hawai'i anyways?

Yeah, don't take the chance and take it to the beach. Besides you probably won't get anything done on the laptop -- and might be the only person on the beach with a laptop.

Thats deffinately a bad idea, take it from the florida girl. This is something I'd never do. Like SG said, my 6000 would probably end up melting in its bag because I'd forget all about it at the beach. The beach is to much fun for that.

Beaches are hot, and heat rises off the sand... the heat will take its toll for starters, next you have salt water, yes thats worse than fresh water. Any water or sweat on you're keyboard would fry it. But a good salty breeze will cause currosian (sp... sorry), You may not be there long enough. But my old laptop's screws rusted and all I was doing was using it at the edge of a pool area (Safely away from splashes. =D ) and on a balcony, Sand is the worst thing in the world for an electronic device. They're are plenty more things that could go wrong.

Another reason why is other than my Ipod, no electronic device I've ever taken on the beach has survived more than two or three days worth of beach activity. I can't tell you how many darn personal CD players I've lost at the beach.

Maybe you should save your code work for the hotel room at night. Lol, you'll also have plenty of time on the flight over, right?
