I was looking over the laptop today and I realized that on the Vostro 1500, the headphone jack is right next to the hard drive.
Could it be that the jack is picking up some frequency from the hard drive?

How about you folks who have the headphone jack in the font, do you have this problem?

I'm trying to track down what it maybe, I think it's hardware problem.

it is, some people say that it can be fixed by either buying an express slot sound card, or by replacing the motherboard.

If anyone comes up with solution they'll be a hero.

It would really surprise me if a motherboard replacement was the only fix.

since the tech came and changed my screen, he already opened half the laptop and i dont know why but he did.
So technically if there were any seals on the laptop, they're broken :) and not by me.

I want to track the problem down by taking the laptop apart (Yes I have a hardware technical background).

I'm also an audiophile and this is UNACCEPTABLE to me.

I just wanna see if putting some sort of a ers paper blocks out the sound..... or is it something wrong with the hardware itself.....

well they know what they shipped it with. it is in testing for hours and a machine reads and prints out everything in it. this is confirmed with your order list. they would know something was foul...
