I was excited to find a PCMCIA Bluetooth adapter to get for my laptop until I realized my Inspiron E1505 has an Express Card 54 slot and not PCMCIA. I've only been able to find one adapter, and it bulky and costs $120. Does anyone know if a PCMCIA slot can be purchased for the E1505 to replace the Express Card slot? I can get a USB dongle if I have to, but I was trying to avoid it.

You can't change out the ExpressCard slot for a PCMCIA slot. You could always get one of those Dell internal bluetooth modules for the E1505.

That might work. Any idea where I could get it or how much it costs?

Edit: Neverming, just found the module on Ebay. Hell it was cheaper than the PC card I bought, awesome.

Well first off, ExpressCard/54 is a normal PCMCIA card, just by a different name, the 54 is how many mm wide it is, the new technology to which you are refering is ExpressCard/34 because it is smaller, generates less heat and even uses less power. there is backwards compatability for a 34 card to be used in a 54 slot, but not the other way around. The motherboard in the e1505 does not support a bus for the ExpressCard/54, so there is no way to swap that out.
