So my left laptop button has stopped working, which might have something to do with a sprinkle of water (and I mean just a sprinkle) that dropped on the touch pad. Either that or I have knocked it and there is a loose connection.

Either way i've decided to open it up and take a look see if there is anything I can do (I am well out of warrenty anyway). I've found this really useful video and i've put together a desktop before so I'm cool taking a look, but I wanted to ask a couple of questions to see if you guys could help me out.

    1. Are there any specific 'gotchas' to look out for when opening up the Studio 1558? The vid is pretty thorough and points out to not pull the keyboard to hard when removing, but is there anything I should look out for?
    2. If i need to replace the laptop buttons themselves, does anyone know of a place in the UK I can order them from? I have only found a part on eBay and its shipping from the US for a large amount.

Thanks a lot, any help much appreciated.

Well the taking apart went fine. No signs of any damage underneath the bonnet. I guess there must be a problem with the connector to inside the left mouse button itself.

Once again if anyone has idea where I might be able to get the part (SKU: 155511031) in the UK it would be much appreciated. Failing that someone who will ship to the UK without it costing a fortune, its such a tiny part.

    Thanks.
