I was called last night by a rep named Renalda, and was told that my Ruby Red cover was delaying my order. I was asked if I would like to switch to Jet Black or Alpine White to receive the order faster. I told her no, that I'd just wait it out, but lo and behold, Alpine White and Jet Black are the only lids on the site today with no delays....
On a sad note though, drafting an order for a Ruby Red 1520 yesterday landed me with a 8/30 ship date, but doing it today lands me a 9/6 ship date. Could mean that the colored lids that seemed to be coming in have been exhausted.![]()

I can't believe it. My 1520 w/red lid ordered 6/23 was scheduled to ship 8/6, then they pushed it to 8/14, then 4 hours later they pushed it to 8/28. I called to ask what the holdup was and they told me the colored lids were slowing orders. I asked to chang it to black or silver since I had heard they weren't a problem, and he told me he had to cancel the order and place a new one to be able to do that.
But no, they call you and ask??
I've come to just expect this from companies, anymore you can't pay someone $1600 for a product and expect any kind of customer service. -
how did you order it 6/23? that's before the release date.

Guys there might be some hope, I know I have the 1521 but i think its the same lid, any way, mine went into boxing yesterday! The hope is it wont go back into build!

I just cancelled mine, they didn't offer any discounts or upgrades.
I told them my order's ship date had changed 4 times and they couldn't tell me what the holdup was (i'm ssuming the lib, though it could be any one of the upgrades I got). I told them I didn't want to spend $1700 with a company that didn't know what was happening to my order and was going to take at least a month to send the thing. -

No word on when they'd be in...just that they're causing delays. I'm holding out and hoping that this was just another rep talking out of their a**, and that it will ship sometime over the next two weeks.
Possibly some truth from a Dell rep?
