it looks good in real life, not as dark as i wanted but definitely a darker blue than whats shown on TV

Is it as dark as this pic?
-
when not directly in a light source it's really hard to distinguish a midnight blue lid from a jet black lid. it's that dark. however when directly in a light source it's clearly blue.

thats how it should be

toned post a pic

I'll definite post some pics when I get my Midnight blue, which is probably shipping on 8/1/08
-
I got mine today, it's much like the picture, though I'm under bright lights at work - it never looks black to me.
-
Post some pics!
-
I'm at work, and I'm going out tonight right from work, if I had my cable I'd try some cell phone pics, but I don't.
And the webcam can't take pics of itself. -
here is an example of what i said earlier.
not in direct light source (without flash):

is that a dent i see centre-bottom-right?
love the colour in the light! -
It's probably a finger smudge. It does pick up the oils on your skin.
-
wow that looks nice.. the color is perfect. I can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the pics!

the first one looks so dirty....
-
nice pics, mcchea. i'm glad i ordered the blue
-
it wasn't dirty at all when i took these. it's either the camera or the micro-satin finish of the laptop that makes it look like that.
-
Digital cameras do tend to pick up things that our eyes or a regular 35mm camera cannot. My old digital camera, a Canon Powershot A520 was great at picking up stains on shirts and dustballs that we couldn't see with our own eyes. The first picture of the midnight blue looked dusty to me, not dirty (or could be the Micro-satin's reflection in the room's lighting).

It's because you didn't switch your camera to macro mode while being that close.
