    Looking for some help here..

My friend just got an Inspiron 6000 and after complaining about the Dell software, I advised him to format and reinstall Windows. After the reinstall, upon bootup he's given a choice of OS's to choose from..

    1. WinXP MCE- boots with no problems.
    2. WinXP MCE- requests boot disk.

I thought I saw this mentioned here before, but I can't seem to find it on a search. How do we get rid of the second partition, so his notebook boots normally? Any help addressing this issue will be appreciated.

SouthernGirl has the answer in the sticky:

4.) If you reboot your pc and are asked to choose an XP system, choose the top one. This does not mean that you have two XP systems on your computer. An extra line was added to your boot.ini and needs to be removed (right click on my computer --> proprieties-->advanced-->startup and recovery section-->settings-->edit-->delete the line that starts with multi--> save file and exit )

Thank you, I knew I read that somewhere, but just couldn't find it when I actually needed it.
