my shipping was free. DHL ground. it arrived so quickly because I practically live next door!!! actually I could have drove over and picked it up and it take less time!!

my dad's xps shipped on sat and arrived yesterday though, it came across country via fedex ground and weighed a lot.

where does the tracking say it is? thats usually the best way to see how long it will take.

actually a little funny about delivery. I went to the store and OF COURSE the DHL guy comes while Im gone! I saw him drive away as I drove up, so I chased him down the street and waved him over lol! I felt like a loon, but I wanted my computer!!!

It would be helpful if the type of system being delivered is listed as well. I'm waiting on the m1330, scheduled to be delivered 8/6 or so but per the Dell rep that means it will arrive then or before ... here's hoping for way before.

I ordered my Latitude D830 the same day the new Santa Rosas received the dedicated graphics cards. I ordered one with the T7500, WUXGA screen and the NVS140M. That was on the 16th of June.

My accessories (portable hard drives, mouse, surge protector, remote control, etc.) shipped on the 18th and was delivered on the 19th. The laptop was shipped on the 25th and arrived on Thursday!

I was a bit apprehensive at first because the original ship date I was given was the 7th of July, and I needed it to arrive before the 1st since my cousin would be leaving New York for The Philippines, and I was hoping she could carry the packages with her.

So... my package arrives next week! I'm so excited! I was worried that since I would miss out on the launch of the new Inspirons and the m1330 I'd regret my purchase but now that I've seen them I'm quite happy with my Latitude. :)

One thing I have always noticed about Dell... They usually get you the item before the estimated arrival date... They exceed expectations.

You gotta hand it to a company that does that. It goes a long way.

Actually they purposely up the estimated date so that they look good whenever they ship it earlier than expected.

I originaly ordered mine on the 26th.... bad idea. i had to reorder mine yesterday so that i could save $350 with the dell coupon. I ended up getting a bigger HDD and Blue-tooth along with a 9cell battery and i still saved $200.

The original one was going to get here on the 16th (that was my calculations but otherwise that was the shiping date) or before.
But now im waiting for it to arive. Im hoping it comes on the 20th at latest (i need it before the 21st). The actualy shipping date is the 19th.

Well, STILL... at least they meet expectations.. I mean it is THEIR product anyway.. It is like them saying a computer is $400 dollars off.. when they make the prices.. so it is actually off the price they made... same with anything.

Its like airlines... planes now have real good on time arrivals because the ETAs are jacked up.. but at least you know what youll get.

With Dell, you know what youre getting or sooner even.

I guess it depends how many people in front of you in the queue cancel (perhaps to reorder with different options). So if you want to get your machine faster you need to dream up a really good post here to get other people to cancel! ;-)

1800 status number says my order is in boxing stage. From what I gather boxing means my 1420 is over the pacific ocean right now. I think I may get this on Friday or early next week.. woohoo :)

I originally ordered on July 7.. Modified it a week later to include a 9 cell battery and they offered me to expedite and overnight.. did not ask for it but I was concerned that my order would be delayed too much for modifying again. Then they would not allow me to buy the IR remote separately after calling all morning on July 19th. So I canceled system and rebuilt it again online with a different coupon and called them if they would expedite and overnight again. I explained they had already offered me this and the only reason I asked again was that they literally made me cancel my order to add a 11 dollar remote.. So they again offered expedite and overnight. Now I am in boxing so maybe calling Dell and pushing them to expedite does help.

My V-1500 shipped today. Was SUPPOSED to (that's what I paid for!!!) ship 2nd day with a delivery date of Monday, 7/30, BUT, Dell's giving me a 3-5 business-day estimated delivery date of 8/31-8/02, and DHL's tracking site states it was sent GROUND! Outside of the $40 extra I paid and the time difference in dellivery, I did NOT want my laptop in the truckmonkies' hands for an entire week ... too much time for them to steal or damage it!!! They had better resolve this.
