Dell has been taking on 30 days between build and delivery for the production, if your date goes over that, then we're into demand. These dates are probably longer than it will actually be. As soon as someone can post an actual ship date, we can all cheer.

To Kadena AB, via a PSC address...basically it gets shipped to Seattle 3-5 days and then takes a boat to get here...around 4-6 weeks. The only downside of living over here.

 

guys remember these lead times are normally estimates and thus I would expect the product to ship sooner, but because its a new unit, these lead times may be accurate. Only time will tell at this point.

I am a little scared at how fast the estimated dates are going up, they have gone up by nearly 3 weeks in 3 days of ordering.

To me that kind of looks like more demand than they were expecting, or maybe supply problems?

I will post again as soon as my status changes. Hopefully it is not in August.

I have been trying to get a straight awnser from Dell. I am pretty close to canceling and going down to my local apple store and buying a MBP.

 

I went to the apple store yesterday to luck at it. It is pretty sick. The design is flawless and the os is pretty easy to get used to.

Interesting that some people have longer delays. I wonder which part of the machine they configured that caused the extra delay?

 

Your order date cannot be 6/31. Either its 6/30 or 7/1. Which is it?

edit: oh wait I got the 5400rpm. nm that could be it, altough I would think hard drives would be the easiest thing to get.

 

Also remember everyone this is not all that uncommon. I was thinking of getting a Lenovo T61 when it was released. And it seems they took over a month to start shipping after taking orders.

So this is not a strange thing to see some delays when ordering a brand new laptop. Remember also that this is not just updated specs, it looks like most of the parts of the M1330 are pretty unique to it so they have to ramp up more to get it going.

 

Its not the HD, because I ordered the 160 GB 7200 too.

Its coz of the LED screen, and all the time it takes to spraypaint the red and white units tuxedo black coz no1 is ordering those colors.

Lol, I expect to see a report of an unknown assailant attacks a Dell distribution center in his rage. In consequence, all Dell M1330s are pushed back another month....

 

LOL!!! I laughed for a minute... then I realized that may actually happen then I just kinda stared at the screen for 20-30 seconds... I'm starting to wish I got a 1420 or something... those only take 2.5 weeks... not 2.5 months! =D

 

But the 1420 is like waiting for your date with Rosie O'Donnell, sure it comes comes around quickly but you just regret agreeing to the date in the first place. The 1330 is like waiting for your date with Elisha Cuthbert seems like the day never arrives but it's worth the wait.

My estimated delivery date is 17 Jul. I guess cause we pay more over at Singapore for the m1330 and Singapore is small.

 

I don't even want to know what my NEW ETA is as I modified my order and it was already pushed back to 8/22 so maybe 9/1 ?!? I'm psyched though as I upgraded to LED w/ webcam, Intel wireless card, and she let me cancel my printer so it was only like $40 difference - WOOHOO !!! Btw, I asked her about color choices and she said the black looked nicest...

Isn't it so SAD that we are Surprised when we receive GOOD Customer Service ? I was so grateful to the person on the phone but if you think about it, it's her job to assist me, right? Yet, the other four people were somehow "incapable" of helping me !

 

I wish they had an assembly factory in Florida so that I could visit it and see what's up with the m1330 holdups...

 

i noticed that the time on the shipping date goes up dramatatically with if u upgrade to led display

 

it also seems like there's a shortage of 6-cell batteries b/c the dell guy kept trying to convince me to get a 9 cell battery for only $1.59 more. When I asked why, he said they were backed up on 6 cell batteries.

Did anyone else order the LED screen and notice the part number and description are different on the confirmation email than on the order details screen on Dell's website?
