risbac, i ordered from waco, tx and it is a shame. I'm 30 mins from their headquarters, I should go yell at them.

Well I actually got a call from Dell. I told the phone rep I talked to to try to get a higher up to get ahold of me about some issues. Well got a call this morning. One he said they are actually having a problem with the integrated graphics cards. He stated that there was a shortage of them since so many people went with them, and orders made from the 6th -22 on other dell 1500 series notebooks something in that range also had problems shipping because of this too. He also was very truthful and did not know what the issue was with the 4 cell and the integrated graphics card, but was happy enough to go ahead and ship me a 6 cell after my system shipped. BIG NOTE BIG NOTE>>>> HE said not to cancel my order. I know a lot of you have had reps say cancel and reorder. HE said DO not do this. IT WILL DELAY YOUR SHIP DATE. He was happy to answer other questions also about canada having bluetooth problems. Its an online computer glitch. He told me that my system should be here within two weeks around the 10th when my ESD was the 31st.

 

Errr LOL...... That's nearly as good as my quote.

lol, ya thats all most people know when they hear waco, tx! But I'm from NYC and going to a top ranking college here called Baylor University and I'm studying electrical and computer engineering. But honestly that incident gave the town a bad rep and technically, where that happened isn't really waco. It's like 10 miles out of town. It's not a cult town, lol!
But anyway, has anyone spoken to a dell rep. I was told a 22 day backlrder on the casing and I ordered on 6/28. Freakin ridiculous. The only reason I want this laptop so bad is so I can do CAD on the go and also mobile audio recording which I think it's perfect for.

 

Heck! I ordered on 6/26, live in Austin, TX, and my status is still in the dreaded "Build Stage"....

 

You ordered the day it was released right? Then why would some receive it while you need to wait 22 f...... days?! Dell needs some very serious change on their manufacturing process; I would just cancel and buy from any other brand in your position.

Congrats to everyone who's got their M1330s today - I have to go lie down, it's too much excitement.

 

The Brazos is pretty flooded like at least 15 ft above normal. Hopefully it stops raining so much.

 

Well its too bad that 1 out of 1 M1330's is defective...

 

If he would only try massaging the pixel with an eraser

 

Or first try with a software... Massaging could damage it even more. That's really the last solution.

 

ive never heard of the eraser massaging technique....but it does make sense now that i think about it

 

Well I got a hold of Dell and they said they dont replace the system unless there are at least five pixels burned out. They said I could return my system and get my money back and then reorder. I said BS and I wanted to talk to a supervisor. To make a long story short...the supervisor is sending someone to my house to install a new screen on to my new laptop. He said they would have somone out within 2 to 3 business days to fix this problem.

I was beginning to think the new reason for delayed deliveries is lack of stock of screens with pixel defects

.. but seriously - I can believe massaging might work (though wouldn't the factory try a bit of that) - I can't believe software will fix it.

 

Can we have a post of who has received theres? I think there is danger of confusion because of people reporting photos for tileman

jahjahwarrior, my CSR said the same thing that my order placed june 28th and stuck in the build stage will remain stuck in the build stage for a long time because of a manufacturer's hold because of the casing. She said that I would be better off canceling my 6/28 order and just go with my 7/2 order with an 8/23 estimated ship date. It is really aggravating me because it appears that my 6/28 order will be stuck in the build stage for several more weeks, and my 7/2 order has been stuck in pre-production for 22 days now!

darthsat, I noticed that you ordered 6/28 and 7/2 with a ship date of 8/23. I ordered on 6/28 and was confirmed on 7/2 also with a ship date of 8/23. When did your first order go into build? Mine is still in pre-production and I'm worried it might get canceled.

My first order was confirmed on 6/28 and I got an 8/17 estimated ship date. My second order was confirmed on 7/2 just like your's. The first order went into the build stage around the 12th. I too am worried about cancellation on the 2nd order because it has been in pre-production for so long.
