Because there are so many variables for how much battery life you get, I figured there should be a thread for this.

Post your battery life and be sure to mention:
    -Dell Line (inspiron/vostro/latitude)
    -Model (1400/1500/1700 for vostro, etc.)
    -# of cells for battery
    -Video card (intel X3100 / nv 8400 / nv 8600)
    -XP or Vista

I'll update the 1st post as people add numbers. To keep things consistent, this is battery life for normal usage, i.e. word, music, web browsing etc. We all know when you run Doom3 you should be plugged into AC :)

    XPS - M120 - 6 cell - Geforce 7400 - XP - 4 hours
    XPS - M120 - 9 cell - Geforce 7400 - XP - 6 hours

    Inspiron - 1420 - 6 cell - Geforce 8400 GS - Vista - 3.5-4 hours

    XPS
    M1210
    6CELL + 9 CELL (Separate)
    GeForce 7400
    XP

Battery Life: Is great on the 1210...6Cells I get about 4 hours of battery life with casual usage and about 2 hours 40 minutes on DVD. With a 9Cell I get usually 6 hours of casual usage and 4 hours 20 minutes on DVD.

    6cell & 9cell
    T7300 (battery drain)
    8400m gs (battery drain)
    high res screen (battery drain)
    vista

I pull between 3:30-4:00 on the 6 cell just doing web/AIM stuff, typing, low processor general use. With WiFi on and active. If I shut down Wifi and was wired or not online, I'm sure I'd get more.

The 9 cell I would expect about a 30-40% increase (Dell claims 50% but I doubt it), so somewhere around 4.5-5 hours.

Updated with the numbers posted so far.

@xie: Do high res screens actually suck more power? I know that larger screens do (that's already covered by model) but didn't expect resolution to matter. I could include that too if its relevant.
