Will the 65 watt power adapter with the rubber strap work with the M1330? I hate the mini adapter with the velcro strap...the csr through dell chat didnt know the answer...Anyone know? Part number would be helpful. Thanks.

Dont like the fact that I cant roll it up like I can the others...when I do get it "straped" its bulkier than the others...just dont like it.

Yes, it works. I use the rubber one when I park my m1330 at work and the hex/octagonal or whatever shaped plug one when I park it at home.

The real question is...wth did they change the shape of the plug?

Power jack/socket of M1330 has an octagonal shape while new inspiron and older DELL notebooks have a round jack (which is kind of universal for rest of the DELL notebooks). Don’t understand why they changed the shape of only this one…

Therefore I don’t think they are compatible, or are they

Round power supply connectors will fit in m1330. Octagonal will not fit in laptops that came with round-connector power supplies. In other words, the m1330 is backward-compatible.

Just to confirm, if I use the round plug power adapter from my old 600m, should it work? Out of curosity, lets say I use a Dell 90 watt or Dell 50 watt (if they exist) could that damage my m1330? I ask because we have a bunch of Dells and AC adapters in our office.

I like the Dell Slim Auto/Air/AC Adapter better than the standard adapter. You can check out my review
