G'day folks.
Got a dell xpi cd p150 & can't seem to sort out a power supply prob.
Where the PS plugs into the lap, the lap has 3 small connecting pins. I on top & 2 on the bottom, like a triangle -> .'.
Can't find my original PS but pretty sure the the part that plugged into the lap had 3 (copper?) corresponding metal connectors in it. It worked but started to cut out.
Ended up bying a coupla PSs on ebay & although they fit (as in plugging into the lap) & have 3 corresponding holes (for plugging onto the 3 pin connectors in the lap), only 2 have connectors in them & one is a blank. These PSs are working & light up when I plug them into the wall, but do not provide power to the lap when i plug it in.I even cut the wire on one & there are only 2 wires (red & black). Whats the deal? Is the PS supposed to have 3 wires going to the end that plugs into the lap?
Can the 2 wire PS be made to connect & power up the lap that has 3 connecting pins? (I could make one up perhaps) If so, on which of the 3 pins .'. would the 2 wires (black & white) connect to? thx

bump
Maybe not the right forum for this type question? Talked to dell tech about this & they have no clue..

The third connector is just a ground, isn't it?

Would you know which one is ground, or which one(s) the red & black wire hook up to?
