    Precision M2300 Delays?

    Ordered an M2300 on the 21st November (specced up with 4Gb ram + other options), and was given an initial estimated delivery date of 5th December.

    This was changed to 17th December by email on the 1st, and then changed again to 2nd January, by email on the 13th December.

    Due to the Christmas & New Year holidays, I'm not expecting it then (I reckon three weeks today at the earliest, so 7th Jan), but was wondering if anyone else was seeing the same delays for this model?

    Its becoming a bit of a pain, as my employer was hoping to give a new starter my old Dell PowerEdge desktop a couple weeks ago, when I'd got the new Precision up and running, but he's having to work on an old Inspiron 8000, which is seriously underpowered for what he's doing (luckily he's still learning our systems, so not delving deeply into the code yet).

    We're an all-Dell company here, albeit a small company, but the hardware guy is seriously considering not buying Dells again, due to the delays that are happening on new orders (mine isn't the first one with a delay).

    And here we go again - while I was off at Christmas, Dell contacted us to say that there was a further delay to the docking station, so they were going to cancel the order, and re-order as two separate orders.

    New estimated delivery date for the notebook is 19th January, with the docking stations not being available until the end of February! :mad: Ordered 21st November, so now up to 8 weeks from ordering to the new delivery date!

    Why not just hook out my notebook that has presumably been ready for weeks now and send it to me, rather than cancelling and re-ordering, especially as I'm very doubtful that the re-ordered notebook will get to me by the date advised.

    Dell really have screwed the pooch on this order! :mad:

    And all of it has now arrived (on the 16th), including a power cable for the docking station with only a US plug (no UK plug adapter included) - good job we had a spare power cable here.

    Nice to see that the 'docking station not available until the end of February' was misleading, as it came at the same time as the computer :rolleyes:
