Hi all. I have a few questions. I have an older Precision M4600, and I am looking to upgrade it to make it a bit better for gaming. I've already maxed out the RAM at 32GB, and I have this thing jam packed with disk drives. I have a 512GB mSATA, a WD 2TB drive in the drive bay, and I replaced the optical drive with a Seagate 2TB hybrid drive. So, here are my questions:

    1. The laptop has a Core i7-2960XM. Is there something better I can replace it with?
    2. I have the Nvidia 2000M with 2GB of RAM. I've read that the K2000M could replace that, but is it worth it? They're not very expensive, but is it worth the effort of taking the laptop apart and swapping out the video card?
    3. Is there a better screen for the laptop? I know there's a touch screen out there that can replace the one I have. but is the resolution better? Again, is it worth the effort, or is there a better screen that I can fit in this laptop?

I know it's an older laptop, but I like it because I was able to put all those drives in it. If there's something else within the $5-600 budget that can handle three drives, has a dedicated graphics card, and a better processor, please, I am open to suggestions.
    TIA

    Answers to your questions:
    1. The i7-3940xm is the best cpu for the socket.
    2. Don't get the k2000m. I would rather get a 980m
    3. Upgrading a panel is one of the best mods you can do. I'm planning on getting a 1080p 120hz and if I get any replies to my own thread then I'll share it with you.

I would say don't get a new laptop. The m4600 was my previous laptop and it performed quite well. The m4600 can take fairly powerful hardware if you are willing to upgrade it.
