I am about to make the final decision either on the 1505 or 1405.

I beleive I prefer the WSXGA with truelife at 1280x800, simple because website that are designed at 775 are just too narrow on any larger resolution.

Anyone here happy with their purchase of this lcd?

    Thanks

I don't have that resolution, but I am thinking on a 14" or 15" screen it would be a great resolution. I comes out to about what my 1440x900 rez 17" screen looks like.

I think it is a great option, and with the extra contract and brightness of the Truelife option, you can't go wrong.

    Just my $.02 :p

    WSXGA is 1680x1050, not 1280X800

    1280x800 is WXGA

i love my WUXGA screen. couldn't imagine getting a lower rez screen. what you said about web pages is true, they are designed to narrow for a high rez widscreen display if you want to fully maximize it. i run my browser on the left side taking up half of the screen, while still allowing another half of the screen for other apps. it makes multi tasking amazingly efficient.

    Drum,

The WSXGA is the WXGA with Truelife. Dell is trying to confuse us. :)

    The WSXGA+ screen is 1680x1050. :p

    No, thats not true.

They still call it WXGA with Truelife. Just checked on their page.

Oh, and about the post, i'd never change my WSXGA+, maybe only for a WUXGA :)

Check on the Tech specs page:

    http://www1.us.dell.com/content/pro...=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn&~page=2&~tab=specstab#tabtop

It states there WSXGA for 1280x800 with Truelife. That is where I got it from. That is where my screen guide is from too. :p

Personally, I prefer the WQUXSXGA+HD2 with its resolution of 12475x9682! Can't beat it!

While I wouldn't give up my 1920x1200, I really like my mom's 1280x800 HP. I almost reconsidered getting a lower resolution screen just so I could play games at reasonable framerates with true 1:1 pixel mapping... but I'm plenty happy!

And it's pretty ridiculous how small webpages look on my display. I think I could actually fit two websites side-by-side without scroll bars.

Thanks guys, my opinion is that 1280x800 is perfect for a 15 inch widescreen. Anything higher will make browsing the web tough on my eyes for those sites that aren't 100% expanding... Most sites are designed to be viewed at 800x600....

Hi Nick_Danger, Can I get the 12475 * 9682 or atleast 1920x1200 on Dell Inspiron E1505 with 15.4 wsxga + with true life??? Plz clarify...

Also which system/notebooks supports 12475 * 9682??? thts mind blowing... i think big resolution is always good especially for ppl using it for work like web applications ... Ideally i would prefer 1920x1200 ..

Thanks... plan to buy a new one soon...
