According to the website, the current preliminary ship date for a M1330 is 5/5/2008. How accurate is this figure? What have your experiences been with ship time and total arrive time?

They almost always ship before the estimated date in the U.S. It might be different for other countries, but your ship date seems way out for U.S orders.

This question has been hashed and re-hashed. The ship date is not accurate, it is generally overestimated by about two weeks or so. You'll get it before then.

My estimated shipping date was tomorrow... It shipped on the 16th and I got it on the 17th... free shipping.

    NO!

Dell set my ship date to TWO weeks after my order... but I got my notebook just three days after my order.
