Just curious about Dell's "Premier Warranty" (Inspiron) and "Gold Technical Support" (Latitude)...what exactly do you get by upgrading to this service? U.S. based customer support? Better tech staff? Quicker wait times? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing this is just for software support (and not hardware malfunctions)...
The price seemed relatively reasonable (i.e. $119 for a Latitude laptop - 5 years), but I don't know the details so it's kinda hard to judge.
Thanks in advance.

i could be wrong, but i think the upgraded support is still only for hardware, but you get those things you metioned; short wait times, etc.

for the premier warranty, you are suppose to get quicker service. Most of us have to wait on chat/phone for a several minutes, and with permier, you should have minimum wait time.
Gold is very similar. You get better service, and best response time.
for 5 years, 119 isn't bad, but i don't know if it is worth it.
[edit] I think drumfu is right. As far as I know, Dell does not do software support unless you want to pay for the extra support. The warranty is mainly for hardware.
Premier Warranty & Gold Technical Support = Baloney?
