We have two Dell systems - an Inspiron 8600 laptop and a Dimension 8300 desktop. I have had good experiences with both computers and, luckily, with Dell service. I am currently shopping for a second home laptop to replace a 4 year old Sony Vaio.

Here's my question, is this a good deal for this e1505? When I got my last laptop in October '04 I purchased it with something like a 30% off coupon AND a $500 stackable coupon...those days are gone!

    e1505

    Core Duo T2050 1.60GHz
    1GB DDR2 SDRAM
80GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
    8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double layer
    128 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300
    6 cell battery
    Dell wireless 1390 802.11 b/g mini card
    NO added software or security.

    $810+tax, delivered.

I am looking for price feedback, but any system feedback would also be appreciated.

I am not in a rush to make the purchase. I'm wondering if Core Duo systems will come down in price with the introduction of Core Duo 2. I am also looking at an HP dv6000z (dual core, 64 bit) priced at $879 comparably equiped.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Regards,
    Tony

try www.dell.com/aug they have 3 e1505's you can customize w\ a free 725 printer. 2 have a free battery upgrade you might have to try it different times of the day though the starting price\configurations seem to be changing lately plus they are only good to 8/31

Thanks for the link. The cheapest e1505 adds another 40GB to the hard drive and adds the printer...for $123 more. Don't need either so I'll check back on the site from time to time. Thanks again.
