    Went from $20 to $50. High demand does = higher prices ;-)

    Yeah the increase happened overnight. I actually placed an order at midnight EST. Woke up at 6 am and the covers were more expensive. Of course now my University's EPP page is being updated.. sigh

    Seems like price increases across the board for quite a few things. Thread on these forums has the Vostros a tad more expensive as well.

    They are higher because they are SERIOUSLY backordered. I have been waiting a month for mine. Its been delayed for the 3rd time with no date given this time.

    With price increase on colors, it should make the black computers go faster. This also means that the days of customers of the black computers so fast is close to over. Which is alright with me because I am sick and tired of those people rubbing it in my face that they ordered their computer after mine (with the exact same specs) and they received while mine has been building. Of course the shortage is supposedly the LCD screen...which those people who have ordered it after me had problem getting.

    I will be calling corporate, HCW. So spare your troll

    having a green or yellow or rainbow colored computer could be cool for a few weeks but it'll get old fast. black is definitely the way to go.

    well for someone who has loved blue for his whole life..well...he's happy with a blue lid. originally i wanted a neutral color...like black or silver..except black doesnt have a microsatin finish and silver doesn't exist. blue is dark..and i like blue..so it works out.

    edit: and AFAIK the $50 in the us has gone up in home/home office and dell university. im too lazy to check others.

    It's still free for colour upgrades on Dell Canada, and the delay for Midnight Blue is 4 days. Green, Yellow, and Pink have 12 day delays. This is for the 1420

    i cant wait to get my blue e1420...i originally ordered the black but the blue is so much more sexier...and it is microsatin so no scratches or fingerprints :)

    Hmm. When I posted my earlier message it still said $20 for the colors.

    But if you notice, they raised the price for colors to $50, but they also discounted the base price from $849 to $819, so they havent really raised the cost of the colors - theyve essentially discounted black by $30.
