    Hi,
    I ordered a XPS M1330 on January 4th for 1703 Dollars.
Now i just checked on the website and the same laptop is offered for 1503 $.
Will dell refund me the 200 $ ?
I know i can send the laptop back get a refund and order a new one it's not simple but it's worth it for 200$ !
Has anyone had a similar experience ?
    Thank You

You can call them up and ask them for the difference (which they'll probably say no), but then threaten to send the laptop back. Odds are they'll give you something, but if not, you'll have to follow through and send it back, then re-order.

They have a 21 day price guarantee.... they will make you work hard for it.. price it component by component etc... more trouble than worth usually...

I was told by a sales rep, that Dell would price match as long as the difference was at least $50 and within 30 days. With my first Dell, they told me no at first, then when I told them I would just send it back and re-order, they gave me the difference. I've found that when denied simple requests by a CSR, just ask for a supervisor. They usually are more resonable.

They will refund you the money, but you will definitely have to fight for it.

I remember having to escalate the issue to the very last level of support where i was either going to have to return the laptop or was going to have my discount applied. I explained the situation to the tech telling her that i don't want to waste my time returning the laptop, only to reorder the same one later. For some reason, the 4 tech before her couldn't understand that simple issue. She gave me my discount without a problem.

    Jay,
I am in the same boat as you are right now. To my conclusion I think I am gonna play a game with this. As you know it is hard to get a perfect system with Dell now a days. So if you are happy with it..stick with it. You might not be happy with ur next system.

well obviously its cheaper for dell to give you the 200 dollar refund than getting your laptop back and ordering a new one.

so every dell rep who denies you that, "burns" money from their own company. otherwise, a dell rep. will not earn that much money, so they simply don't care - from their perspective its easier to send it back and let other dell employees do the work...lol

I'm still within my 21 day return period and yesterday I called to have the accidental coverage (originally $99) added to my 3 yr warranty. I got the same runaround from two CS reps... It will cost $300 to add that now so you should just return your system and I'll help you order another one, etc. I got my system for a really good price so I asked if a new one would be the same. I wait on hold for the guy to come back and tell me that he can get pretty much the same price but I would have to get the 250GB 5400 HD and the T7250 processor (like those were unimportant items when I first ordered). Anyway, I finally got a little upset and said it was ridiculous for me to have to order a new system without the same specs to get a warranty added! He finally transferred me to the extended warranty dept and I started telling that CS rep the whole story and she just said "stop". It's no problem to add it to your current system for the original price of $99, I don't know why the regular CS reps keep telling people they need to order new systems to add warranty items. She said I was her third call yesteday with the same story...

Not if you're within the 21 day total satisfaction period.

Well my roommate call and get 200 $ dollars credit back on his card.
As for me they only gave me 100$ coupon i refused and ask to return the computer, the CPR sent me the ups label (btw that was sunday) and i got a call today (Tuesday) from a CPR who asked me what was going on and asked me if i prefered to have my 200$ credited on my card rather than sending back my laptop.
Thank You for your help !

I also got something back from price protection...

I bought my M1330 just last week, and now it's $200 cheaper here in Canada.

So I called yesterday, and they said they would extend my warranty from 3 to 4 years. I said no....

I called again today, they offered $100 cash plus 1 year extension...I hmmm...and hahhhed on the phone, and then she said why don't you go on the Dell.ca site and pick something you want. I said the Logitech Z-5500 speakers for $349.99...she said OKAY! SO they are sending me that PLUS a one year warranty extension...:-D

I guess i'm keeping my M1330 :-D I can't wait to get my speakers now!

Just curious, you sure about no restock fee with 21 days? I been hearing from other ppl sayign no, but Dell site saying there is a 15% restock fee even return within 21 days. Just want to confirm.
