Hi, my apologies if this has been covered before but I have been trying to get Dell Canada to refund me the difference in price on the 1330 that has happened since I ordered it. I am within the 30 days. Each and every service rep (not sales, customer service) that I have talked to say that there is no such price protection policy (there have been at least 5 reps and 3 managers). I don't know what to say when they say there is no policy. Can anyone give me some tips on what to say to get past that barrier. Does it say there is such a policy on the website? I hope you can help me because I am getting very fustrated and upset at Dell although I am keeping my interactions with the service people respectful and calm. Thanks, Yasmine

The reps you speak to are correct, there is NO price protection policy. Period.

Not sure what the Dell CA return policy is. Just tell them you want to return it and re-order it cheaper.

Thanks for your time in replying. If there is no price protection then why is there mention of it in many threads and other people have gotten refunds? I am not trying to be difficult, just trying to get accurate information. Anyway, much thanks!

Because Dell Price Protection is for the US only.

this is true...the PPP is only for the US, officially...
However....you can get some back if you do it correctly.
I did the same thing with my M1330, and they ended up giving me 1 year more warranty, plus $350 speakers shipped the next day for free!
Call them and tell them the price has gone down....and that you could just return it. However, make it seem like you are not really happy with the computer. For example, I said that I wasn't really happy with the screen and the general build-quality (I said there is backlight bleed, some pieces no flush, etc...), which is true...but nothing bad enough to warrant me returning it.
After I said this, they immediately offered me 1 year extra warranty to keep the computer...I said I could get a lot more by returning it...and they kept increasing their offer until they were willing to give $200 back, plus 1 yr warranty....I said I didn't want cash and they told me to pick something on dell.ca that I want for free!
Go about it the right way, and I'm sure they will give you SOMETHING... -
lol, that is good! I like that story. I guess I will try again when I have had a bit of a chance to recover from my humiliation after the last set of calls, sigh.... I am finding the replacement machine even hotter than the first machine which I returned for heat. I just hate playing hit the right csr game, not to mention I am bad at manipluation
. Anyway, thanks for the help and I will see what I can do. Much thanks!
