Well it looks as though my purchase of the XPS M1330 will be delayed even longer.
After waiting for the initial problems to be fixed with manufacturing and delivery, I was then just sitting back and just waiting a little longer, which was today I was going to pruchase.
I noticed on my countries Dell site (Australia site) that the current offers finished yesterday, and the new ones were up this morning. And I am quite shocked to see that the system I had been configuring over the last month or so, which has spanned about 3 different offer periods has now increased in price, and for my system by some $300 dollars. (I was expecting to pay today the prices that have been up for the past 2 months or so)
It appears for starters after jacking up the price by about $100 from their usual base offer, they now have only 1 option for 3 years warranty, and that is going to cost $540, which is about $150 more than the $395 it was last night for the same warranty.
Damn, well I will just have to keep using my 700m for travel and my Inspiron 9300 laptop. And maybe wait till the price goes back down in a few months.
In my case Dell made a bad move, cause it simply stopped my purchase of the laptop today. And Damn if I am going to lower my configured options and get something less that what I was going to yesterday to save the $300 increase.
I am very dissapointed in this massive increase overnight for what I was after. I do not know about other countries.

Looks like prices are falling with a free $150 bag

Dell fluctuates their prices to work with their vast network of suppliers, supply issues and other things which affect their business model. I also imagine that prices have gone up somewhat due to the recent shortage; they may want to discourage purchases right now.

Also in Spain the prices have an important increase

If I couldn't manufacture enough to meet demand, I'd raise the price.

Some 20 hours later and it appears Dell Australia website has altered their pricing once again. The warranty is now back down to $458. And my notebook is once again in the price range that I configured it 24 hours ago. With other items dropping back down as well.
I called Dell, was put through to, not a Supervisor, but marketing manager. And I mentioned my issues with the pricing. And after a calm venting of my issues, I was told that it would be looked into.
And low and behold, prices have been ajusted. These price increases had nothing to do with specials, these were base prices that simply were increased overnight for no reason, and it appears it was a mistake. -
Prices have Increased?
