    Hi All,

I bought Dell Inspiron 1520 with Anti - Virus Mcafee Security Center 15 Months OEM.

I have re-installed Mcafee Security Center in my Notebook due to some problems. Today, When i am trying to update Mcafee Security Center i got a message that

"Your Subscription for the following product has expired. Please renew your subscription to automatically update this product".

I bought this notebook with Antivirus in July'2007 and This Mcafee Antivirus validity is 15 Months.

Why I am getting the above message that the subscription is expired?

How i get the subscription for the 15 months?

Please advice and help me. Thanks.

My Suggestion is that you just can McAffee altogether. Go get some of the free virus scanners (AVG, Avast, etc.) & and good firewall (ZoneAlarm, Komodo, etc.) and just don't be silly and click on all the spyware popups (made much easier with Firefox w/addons Adblock Plus & AdBlock FiltersetG installed). This is my practice & I run spyware cleaners every couple months or so and I it finds are tracking cookies, which are usually pretty harmless.

I have Comcast and get McAffee for free, I found it more trouble than its worth.

    Hope that's useful.

I don't even use a virus scanner or firewall on my computer. I always use Firefox, disable Java (has security issues), and don't run programs that I don't trust. Foolproof way to prevent yourself from getting viruses =P

If you know what you're doing, there's no need for a security program. I also have Comcast and get McAffe Security Center for free, but I avoid it because it's script scanners and ram usage slow down everything you do.
