I've just finished re-installing mediadirect and vista using Les' guide, however whenever I restart I get a BSOD and it crashes. I have to shut it down, wait a few seconds, then switch it back on.

The guide does say if this happens to install Intel Matrix Storage Manager, but device manager says I have a more current version and won't let me use the one off dells website or the DVD.

So I have no idea how to fix this.

    Thanks for any help...

That is the driver for the Intel Turbo Memory. Look under the SATA section on Dell's website again, there is one for the Intel Matrix Storage Driver. This driver should have been loaded during the install of Vista. At the pick disk partition screen there is an option to load driver. Do that, have the Intel Matrix Storage Driver saved to a flash drive and then browse to it and then load it. Go here for the right driver: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R166200&SystemID=XPS_M1530&servicetag=&os=WLH&osl=en&deviceid=11530&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=41&fileid=224400

You can also go into BIOS and switch the HD operation mode to "ATA" to prevent the BSOD loop; however, this will result in a slight lost of performance which may not even be noticeable.

    Fixed!

Just had to install the driver through the device manager, worked this time.

    Thanks for the help.
