This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Problem unresolved by DELL authorized service center

    The O/S on my DELL laptop had got corrupted and I had handed it over to the DELL service centre in Pune (Shop No 1,, Pinnacle Prestige,, Sadashiv Peth, Tilak Road, Besides Cosmos Bank ATM,, Near Durvankur Dining Hall, Pune, Maharashtra 411030) last Saturday (23 April, 2016). They formatted my harddisk and loaded O/S once again, but when I reached home I found that the problem still existed - the Windows update function was not working and I was not even able to install my anti-virus software on the laptop. In fact I spent more than INR 1300 for nothing.

    I finally had to get my laptop serviced by a local technician, who did a much better than the DELL authorized service centre!
