Hi, I have recently purchased a dell inspiron 14r-n4010 and received it two days ago. As I turned on the laptop, I have heard a very quiet, subtle crackling noise. The noise is constant, and it is accompanied by rare beep of high frequnecy sound that repeats about 3 times and disappears (It starts and stops). The beep is subtle as well. However, I have only heard these noises in a very quiet room. I googled around and learned that my fan or hard drive may be faulty, but I feel like this is not a fan issue. I listened to different samples of hard drive failures, and they don't really sound like the noises from my laptop.

My hard drive is: 500 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)

I wanted to implement the sound on this thread, but I don't know how. So I have uploaded it on 4shared (You can listen without downloading). Please bear in mine that this was recorded using my integrated mic, which made the pitch of the sound a lot higher. Imagine the noise as a rather low pitch, that kind of produces a scratching/crackling sound.

I am sending it back for repair, but I was wondering if this noise is common? Does anybody know?
