    Problem with 8600GT and Windows XP!

    Hello guys,
    So I have Vostro 1700 with Geforce 8600 GT, and I installed Windows XP on it. Everything went fine except my Video Card. I got the latest driver form Nvidia web site but when I try to install it, I get a message said that the hardware didn't find any driver to install, which mean it isn't suetable with it.

    Can any one help me here plz.

    I don't think that is really an issue between th 8600m GT and XP but the fact the driver or the .inf file is not compatible with the card.

    Go to http://www.laptopvideo3go.com for modded drivers and .inf files. They are otherwise the same driver but are written to support mobile cards.

    I would recommend loading the 169.69 as the newest ones have issues with nVidia's Powermizer feature.

    Otherwise, you would have to go to the Dell website for their 'official' drivers.
