    Hey
I just bought a dell vostro 1400 and the touchpad really is disgusting. While i use the keyboard the touch pad suddenly gets tapped automatically and some window opens, or the cursor reaches some other position or some other crap happens. I know it doesnt happens automatically and a verry ( and i mean Very) slight touch of my palm triggers it. But that shouldnt happen.

I heard about some synaptics driver but i am afraid if they are supported by my touchpad.

    Please help

    Utk

could you please share the link which directly points to the correct driver. I dont have the synaptic touch pad instead i have the Alps touchpad. That is why i am a little worried about the driver working correctly

I did install the driver but it seems to configure the mouse settings and not the touchpad settings. Though the document(a pdf link on the side)says that it does configure the touchpad too.
