I have a Dell inspiron 1525 laptop. Recently I have been facing a problem with my LAN card (Ethernet Card). The issue is that the ethernet port on my laptop has stopped working completely (no flashing lights as well), but in the device manager its showing the device is working properly. There is also no issue with the cable and I confirmed it by connecting two other PCs. This issue started since I installed Windows 7 in my system. I have also Windows XP in my system and that too has the same problem. But XP also started showing this issue only after Windows 7 was installed. Any idea why? Any settings to be changed in Advanced setting?

Is there a way to check whether there is some hardware issue with my LAN card ?
