    Hi, hopefully someone can help!

I've had my insipiron 1520 for just over a year. I turned it on on wednesday and a series of messages flashed up. It first said my firewall was not on, but when I tried to turn it on it would not let me. A message then flashed up saying "unable to connect to a windows system" and advised me to look at the service event log, which I cant find or access. In addition to that, I cannot connect to my internet connection as "server execution failed" and "the audio service is not working". Messages keep flashing up saying "unable to connect to googledesktop.exe as cannot find component."

While my desktop looks normal, I cant access my computer or any files on my hard drive. When I double click on my computer (or any other folder) nothing happens. When I click start and try to access the control panel, again nothing happens. I have run a virus scan and it has come back all clear.

Please can someone explain to me what has happened!! I have had no problem with my computer since I got it.

    J.
