My Dell Studio 1555 screen crashed a month ago, two weeks after warranty period expired. When I took my laptop to Dell Authorized Service Center (here in Chennai, India), they said they would charge me 1.5K to identify the prob first and then additional cost for replacements. So, I decided to service it somewhere else and got my screen changed for a big price. Now, I have a problem with it.

The screen doesn't display the colours properly. The lighter colors (especially the skin-tones in pics of people) are too bright, shinny and unrealistic. It looks more like a 16 bit display with little colors. This also gets bad as laptop heats up. My monitor hardware ID is LGD01DF. I saw a couple of threads with similar problem, but in my case the screen doesn't flicker.

Here is the link for that thread - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=404063

I am pretty sure the problem is with the lcd screen as the colors were clear and perfect in my Samsung lcd tv when I connected it through HDMI. Anyway I have 6 months warranty for this screen now. I would like to know if anyone had similar issues and solution for this. It would be of great help.
