Hi! I may as well let you know right away that I'm not very good at all with these sort of things, so this problem may seem very basic, etc. I'll try and make it as detailed as possible though.

    -----------------------------

Okay, I've been having some problems with my built in microphone, and I was wondering if anyone could try and help me. It's pretty important to me to get this working properly by the end of summer, and I've already looked all over Google and found nothing.

In the control panel, it says that my voice recording device is "Quickcam for Dell Notebooks Mic".

It used to work perfectly fine, but now it does this really annoying thing where every 3-4 seconds it just stops recording everything for about 1-2 seconds and then starts up again. So the playback keeps getting cut off every 3-4 seconds. Hope that made sense lol.

The only thing it seems to work fine on is the "Sound Recorder" application. (All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment)

Some programs that the problem above occurs in ...
    - Sony Sound Forge
    - Skype
    - MSN

If any of you have an idea, I'd love to hear it. I've been trying to fix this for so long :/

    Thank you!

    Hey,

I had exactly the same problem as you. I found this solution in a dell help forum, it seems a lot of people have had this issue.

    You have to:
    - go to the taskbar and find the Logitech Video icon
    - right click on it and choose configure audio
    - as you configure, there is an option in bold letters which is checked (called AEC in my spanish version). --> Uncheck it.
    - Finish the assistant

That did it for me, I hope it helps you!
