    I ran CPU-z on my e1505 with a T7200 core 2 duo 2.0 ghz and it says

    core speed : 997 mhz...

i thought I was supposed to have 2.0 GHz?

It does that when unplugged to optimize battery life. It will max out when needed or something. I believe you can have the option to turn this feature off and have it run full power even when unplugged.

    It's fine.

It jumps to 2GHz when it needs too.

The lower speed saves power and keep the heat down.
