    Problem with my microphone!!

    I cant use my built in microphone and the headset one recently. I even tried using it in games, but no sound output is produced. I checked the recording device menu and there are two options: headset microphone (enabled) and line in (not plugged in). Plz help me :(!!!!!

    Question: What OS do you use? What type of laptop and config?

    Question: What did you do just before the microphone stopped working?

    I am using Vista SP1 ---> XPS 1530.
    TBH, i dont use my mic much, and when I tried to, it does not seem to work =[

    I discovered after 9 months with vostro 1500 my mic jack is dead... only one of a long list of complaints
