I've been trying to overclock my 6800 GO. The only problem is that when playing Counter Strike:Source (HL2 Engine) I get moments of freeze up every 10-15 seconds. This persists even when I am 5 MHZ over the default clock/ram speeds. As soon as I set it back to normal, it works fine. Any ideas are appriciated :)

if u overclock...u won't see a big performance increase in games...only in benchmarks...games run better on stock :D...hope that helps

You throw everything out the window when you overclock, anything can happen, from simple graphical glitches to card failure, its at your own risk

that doesn't seem like typical behavior for gpu oc. typically, after oc you will immediately see gfx glitches, ie the hardware can't handle the speed. Or, u will be able to play for awhile until the temp goes too high, then u get a gpu shutdown due to thermal protection for the core, the effect is usually slow down in frame rate, lost of color depth, or BSOD.

it's okay to run at the gpu's default speed of 300/500, which u will get if u install 3rd party software. dell's driver clock the card lower to minimize heat and prolong battery life at the expense of performance.

yeah, it sounds more like a memory or cpu problem. are you running something in the background or less than recommended ram?

I run IRC and Firefox in the background usually.

    I have 1gb of ram

However, it DOES work fine at stock clock speeds

EDIT: I'm now starting to notice vertical multicolored lines on my screen sometimes when I alt tab. I then am forced to reboot because all I can see are these lines. Could this be related to a graphics card problem?
