Anyone else have problems playing DVDs on XPS with XP installed?

My DVD first complained that there was no DVD decoder, which was solved by loading K-Lite Codec Pack. Then I got a message saying to change the resolution, which didn't help.

Next, I installed Roxio Cineplayer DVD Decoder, which made the "resolution" message go away but allowed me to select and play only some of the things on the DVD, but not all. (There were two episodes I couldn't play the bonus video was fine.)

I have the GF 8600m GT video card.

XP does not come with any MPEG2 decoders. Installing the codec pack should have worked. Have you tried DVD playback using VLC or Media Player Classic?
