Hey guys,
I ordered a 1318 on september 23rd, with aproximate delivery date october 20-24,
the thing is that it's still not out of production, and i'm really ****'d off
I call almost everyday to complain, send several emails and such. Is there any "strategy" on this case to follow?
should I say something in particular? or try to speak with certain area of customer care, or anything?
Can I get a free upgrade or something? I mean, I wouldn't mind the waiting if I just got something in return.
anything?
thanks in advance

Dell doesn't care about anything but the money you have given them. Once you eventually get your system, problems WILL arise, it's Dell!

oh I feel much better now.
if the price of the dollar here (chile) weren't gone crazy high after the subprime thingie, (rising prices of everything dollar imported above cieling) I definetly would cancel the order. -
To be more helpful and not so sarcastic, when I placed a Dell order, I got it before I knew they were done building it. Sometimes the order status takes a long time to update. The other possibility is that components may have become unavailable, so they scrapped your current build and are waiting for all components to be in stock before shipping your system after a new build. Dell is pretty sketchy, so giving them another call or having them call you back isn't worth your time, I've done it, not doing it again. It's a waste, they read scripts, so they only give you half-baked answers, if anything.
Your options are to wait or call Dell and cancel your system and then reorder. -
oh okay =(
thanks for your answer.. I think I'll just send them an angry email now and then for releasing my frustration, and expect for my laptop to arrive whenever they want to ship it.
One answer I got was that the Antivirus was unavailable! ( come on! )
thanks again, and sorry for not browsing the forums well in the first place. -
They answered.. they're telling me that they'll give me a free briefcase, mouse OR keyboard for the waiting.
I just mailed back telling them I don't need those things, that I could use a warranty extension, or something that's usefull in the long term or could save me money in long term.
will edit with news,
