A few months back when I tried to turn on my 3 year old 600m it gave me a white screen and wasn't able to ever turn it back on. I shelved it, bought a new one and was doing fine. I came across it recently because I wanted to sell it on eBay and it turned on just fine but when I flipped it around to take a look at the Service Tag the screen faded and went black. I turned it on again and I'm getting that white screen again. Any ideas as to what it is? I'd like to fix it if its the battery, HD (which it shouldnt be because I was looking at my info just fine) or memory, but if its motherboard or processor then I'll just sell it for parts.
Thanks in advance,
Luis

I had a 600m die mid-2006. I think after some point, you just can't expect a notebook to push on. Sounds like you probably have a combination of LCD and mobo issues.
My suggestion - sell it for parts. That's what I did. You will get more $ for it that way. -
wow !
i think thats just the cable which connects the screen with the mainboard... or give some specific details what you do , does it load bios , does the screen work for sure , does it give any errors...
just step by step what you do. -
Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I would try taking it apart, clean and check all connections, it could very well be that simple.

sounds like something is loose inside. I would open it up and make sure all the connectors are tight and that nothing is broken inside
Problems with Inspiron 600m, any ideas?
