I bought my father a nice new laptop for Christmas, he lives in Spain so i flew over, set it up for him and he was chuffed to bits with it. Until today....

He came back this afternoon, turned on the laptop and the fan started running very fast, the touchpad won't work and the keyboard is acting up. Keys work intermittantly and some seem to have stopped working altogether. the laptop seems to be working fine otherwise.

Getting this back from Spain to the UK is going to be a problem and the final refund solution, but i really want to try and get it working. Does anyone have any ideas as to what has caused this problem and more impoertantly, any idea how to resolve it?

Dell "support" are typically frustrating and not helpful at all.

    Please help :(

what kind of warranty do you have? if its an international warranty he can get it sorted out in spain.

otherwise you have to transfer ownership and do a country transfer as well, then his warranty becomes valid in spain.

i bought my dell in malaysia and they replaced it with a brand new one in the UK because my original unit developed a fault.
