This is my first post, so please bear with the not-so-techy lingo.

My problem is when I try to watch a movie or play an audio CD, the sound comes out very distorted. This problem doesn't happen when I watch videos on the internet or anything loaded onto my computer or when I rip a CD/DVD or burn one. The sound has the same distorted quality no matter what program I use. I've tried updating the driver, disabling digital playback (vs. analog), and everything else I could think of. Please help!

    Specifics:
    Dell Inspiron E1405
Windows XP Media Center Edition, 2004
    TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632D DVD/CD Drive

    Thanks!

I understand that it doesn't happen for internet videos, but what do you mean anything loaded or when rip a CD ? Not exactly sure when the distortions occur and not.

It only happens when I'm playing it directly from the CD/DVD.
When I play the same videos/music when loaded onto my computer, it doesn't do it.
