    Hi, guys!

Several weeks ago I bought dell 630m. It had bad light leakage on the screen (non true life screen). I returned it to Dell and ordered a new 630m with true life. I just received it today. The screen is ok. There is still amount of white leakage, but I found it because I paid to much attention to it. If hadn’t had this problem before I would have never noticed light leakage on my new notebook. But I found a new problem. I can not understand the root of this issue. When I play music the sound is ok, but when I play DVD the sound is very quiet. And I was not able to turn it up. When I tried to play DVD using Media Direct (without booting Operating System) the sound was ok. I didn’t have this issue with the old 630m. I played the same DVD. I can not understand how I can resolve this issue. If you have any ideas please help me.

I would check your settings on Media Direct or whatever you are using to play DVDs when you are in windows.

I had this problem when I installed Nero and had it for the DVD decoder, but once I installed Cyberlink PowerDVD (which is the default decoder) everything was fine. Do you still have PowerDVD installed?

You might want to call Dell, and request the Cyberlink PowerDVD (you have to make separate requests for this disk). As far as I know, all inspirons have the Cyberlink PowerDVD. You could also try WinDVD or some other free dvd program.
